I want one

It was sunny day in New York. Loki was looking out of the glass wall, sipping his coffee "We should go out." he said. Tony didn't reply he was concentrating on his morning news and tinkering on the new parts of his newest Iron Man armor. Loki turned to look at his husband, "Anthony?" he called the man with his full name. Still nothing, Loki frowned little, making his forehead crease. He walked towards this working man who was ignoring him, behind his hunched back. Loki bent over Tony, placing his right hand on Tony's shoulder, "Honey?" it was almost a whisper. Tony made a low growling sound as in to tell he noticed Loki. "Did you hear what I said just a while ago to you?" Loki tried to get eye contact. Tony finally became aware of that someone was actually talking to him "What?" he asked as if he just had switched back to reality, looking to Loki's eyes as if he was searching for a hint on what was going on. "It's really beautiful day, we should go out." Loki smiled to his confused mechanic, "What? Now?" Tony's eyes were all open, the idea didn't certainly please him. Loki's smile turned into disbelief he pursed his lips, "Tony. We are going to go out today. So you should get yourself ready." Loki stated pressuring every word in the first sentence, staring into Tony's eyes to see that he was listening every word. Then he gave a kiss on Tony's cheek and walked away. Tony quickly turned around to see Loki leaving "But--" he yelled after him, trying to object "No!" Loki yelled back, before Tony could continue. Tony exhaled heavily and scratched his head. He should really get ready, there was no way of getting out of this one.

Tony and Loki were walking down the street holding hands. Loki had few paper bags in his other hand, it was the hazards of window shopping. Every once in a while you could hear whispering and pointing around them. It wasn't easy to be a well known superhero, and on top of that to have husband instead of wife. But rarely anyone came to say anything negative about that, of course there had been lots of news and hate talking around it when it came out. Nowadays it was much easier, they had been married for years now. Tony was enjoying the sun on his face and being off from always working, perhaps Loki knew what's best for him after all. They bought coffees on one coffee shop they passed by, taking them to go. After a little walk there was a small park, they looked for a free bench and sat there. Loki rested his shopping bags on the bench as well, he leaned back and stretched his arms and legs and finished with a long exhale. Tony was silently watching Loki with little smile curved on his lips. After Loki was finished stretching his limbs, Tony offered the coffee for him, Loki accepted it with a smile. They sat in silence for a while, only the voices of traffic was on the background and some birds singing in the trees, there were also some children on the playground playing. "This is nice, isn't it?" Loki asked, though it was more of an rhetorical question. Tony nodded and sipped some coffee at the same time. Loki smiled to his coffee, he knew that Tony was enjoying this as well. Young woman passed by pushing a carrycot. "Have you ever think about having kids?" Loki asked, his voice was quiet yet it came out like a  blurt. Tony looked to Loki, eyes wide open, mainly for the surprise, he was looking to see if Loki was being serious. Tony bit his lip before answering, "I uh, you know, I umh... well." he shrugged and mumbled the few words, you could see how uncomfortable he was. "I see." Loki had a sad smile on his face, he took a sip from the coffee. Tony could see the disappointment on Loki's face, he was good at hiding his true feelings, but his eyes were sad and you could read it from them. Tony wanted to say something, but couldn't find the right words, he just placed his arm behind Loki. Loki leaned towards Tony resting his head on his shoulder. Tony gave a tiny kiss to top of Loki's head, and caressed his arm gently. They sat there quite long, watching people passing by while they drank their coffees and had a shallow chit chat. Finally after a long time Loki got up, "we should probably get home. It's getting late.". Tony yawned and stretched out his arms "I think you're right." he got up from the bench and took the bags. "I can carry my own bags, it's okay Tony." Loki uttered. "No, no,  honey. It's my turn now." Tony smirked. Loki just rolled his eyes and smiled to that silly man that he had married, offering his own hand to him. Tony grabbed it and they continued their walk, now towards home.

They were almost home, at least they could see the Stark tower from there. Suddenly Tony slightly yanked from Loki's hand "Loki, look!" he exclaimed and pulled Loki close to one window. Loki was little baffled from Tony's sudden bust out, but followed him to the window. It was a pet store, there were little puppies looking trough the glass and Tony was bending over to the glass, closer and closer, making happy and silly faces at them. Some of the dogs got really interested and came in to the window trying to snoop him. Tony looked really happy, then he looked up to Loki, still bent close the window. "Honeyyy?" you could hear the 'I want one' in the tone of his, "No." Loki replied before he could ask. "But, look at them. They are so cute and fluffy. It wouldn't take much space!" Tony defended the puppies, making his expression to be exactly like one of theirs. "I'm sure it wont. But who's going to train it? And take care of it?" Loki tried to reason. "Me?" Tony was asking from Loki, who just shook his head. "I'm sorry honey, I'm not taking another dog to our household." He gently caressed Tony's cheek, he looked so broken for not getting a puppy. Tony took last longing look to the window. There was a light yellowish corgi staring at him and wagging his tail. "Just look hos much that lil fella wants to come with us." Tony pointed the puppy. Loki looked the furry creature "I'm sure it wants to go along everyone that passes by. Now come on, love." he pulled gently from his husbands hand taking few steps forward. When they got home Tony was still pouting little about not getting a puppy.

As days passed Tony had forgot the puppy and he had been sunken into his work once again. Loki knocked to the door of his workshop, and came in not even waiting a reply. Tony just looked up to the person coming in, "yeah?" he asked, obviously he had been busy and wanted to continue working. "Would you like to come upstairs?" Loki asked raising his eyebrow, "Why?" Tony wasn't on a chatty mood. "Because I'm asking you to. and I have baked and made coffee." he tried to keep the polite tone even tough Tony could be such stubborn jerk sometimes when he really got into his work, Tony was still looking like he would rather stay down. Loki sighed "Please, just come up quickly and have coffee with me. You have been working so hard, and you can return to your precious work right after that!" Loki insisted, now the words were more effective. Tony muttered something under his breath but tagged along Loki. The freshly brewed coffee smelled good, Tony sniffed the air "mmm, smells good.". Loki poured coffee into Tony's cup and then to his own. He took cake from the side counter, he looked to Tony's face to see his reaction. Tony was surprised, the cake was decorated with golden and red sprinkles. Loki handed the cake server to Tony, who took big chunk out of the cake. Loki took much smaller piece. Loki moved to the large couch "Going to join me here?" he inquired when Tony didn't follow him. Tony didn't want to get on Loki's nerves and came to sit next to him. "So what's the big deal? Cake and all." Tony was prying. Loki looked really surprised like Tony was joking. Loki took a sip from his coffee, while Tony was devouring his piece of cake. Loki got up from the couch, Tony left there now even more puzzled. Soon he got back, with a big nicely wrapped gift box on his hands, Loki handed it to Tony and sat down next to him. Tony was counting days in his head, it was his birthday, he had lost the sense of time while he had been working so hard. It was not really heavy package, but it felt uneven. He lifted the top off and peeked in, it was the puppy he had wanted! "Happy birthday honey." Loki leaned close to Tony. Tony's eyes were sparkling, he couldn't have believed it. The Puppy was also happy, it couldn't stay still, Tony noticed it already had red collar on it's neck and a tag hanging from it. "Thor?" he read it out loud and looked to Loki. "I took liberty to name him. Thor is my brother, we used to close and I looked up to him when I was a kid. And the dog happened to be close to the color of his hair. And don't you think it's quite mighty name?" Loki joked the last part. "You have a brother named Thor?" was all that Tony could make out, "Are you like Norse Gods or something?" Tony laughed, Loki laughed as well. "I like it, it's perfect." Tony continued and lifted the little dog out of the gift box "Hey there, you God of thunder!" He baby talked to him. The dog looked amused and energetic. Tony freed the little Thor on ground, it started snooping around the places. Tony gazed into Loki's eyes "thank you" it was just a whisper, but he truly meant it. Loki smiled to him and wrapped his arms around him before drowning him into loving kisses, which Tony answered with passion. Loki pulled way from the kissing "You're welcome. Oh, and you have to now take care of Thor. I'll help you out, but it's your job." he reminded his husband. Tony just nodded, doubt he even listened and claimed more kisses and love to his self.
